Chicago White Sox Working On Trading Reliever

The Chicago White Sox are looking at potential trades this offseason and you can add reliever Craig Kimbrel to the list of potential assets being dealt. The White Sox recently exercised Kimbrel's $16 million team-option for the 2022 season however appear to be favoring moving him out for another bat in the lineup.

Trade rumors sparked when White Sox general manager Rick Hahn pointed out at the Winter Meetings that their was a ton of interest in the 'impactful reliever'. Hahn thinks highly of Kimbrel and it's going to take a talented player in return to have the executive pull the trigger on a deal. Pretty obvious what's going on in the Windy City:

What we have to figure out is if it makes the most sense to have Craig in a White Sox uniform going forward or is there a better use of that spot and him perhaps via trade

Kimbrel is a bit of a risk to other teams as he's been inconsistent the past couple of seasons. Last season's trade to the White Sox did not work out as his ERA went from 0.49 with the Chicago Cubs to 5.09 by season's end.

Hahn is going to do what's best for the White Sox and it sounds like that's going to be moving on from Kimbrel. Some in baseball think it's a done deal, Kimbrel is getting traded.
