Yankees Owner Provides Update on Future of Manager Aaron Boone

The New York Yankees are ending this season empty handed which does not sit well with owner Hal Steinbrenner. While they may be a number of people to blame for the failed season, one person he's not pointing the finger at is manager Aaron Boone. From all accounts it sounds like Boone will be back on the bench for the Yankees.

Steinbrenner pointed out recently he feels this season was on the players and their inconsistent performances throughout the season and in the playoffs. While it's not been easy for Boone to hide from the critics in the Big Apple, especially when it comes to bullpen management and holding players accountable, he's warranted a return based on his winning percentage as a manager.

Boone holds a 328-218 record as the bench boss of the Yankees and has made the postseason in every year he's managed. While there isn't a contract signing imminent, expect a new deal to be announced in the coming weeks as the team will want a manager in place as they get ready to sign some players in the offseason.
