San Diego Padres To Fire Manager
According to Jon Heyman, the San Diego Padres are going to fire manager Jayce Tingler.
The Padres, who came into the season with very high expectations, are currently sporting a 78-82 record and are in third place in the NL West. At the end of May, they will living up to the hype, as they were at the top of the standings. However, since then, they have had an immense amount of trouble winning ball games and are now officially eliminated from playoff contention.Jayce Tingler will be relieved of managerial duties by the Padres. Tingler is a solid baseball man who did a good job last season. But considering the team’s lofty expectations and late-season collapse, this news was eaxpected.

On paper, it looked like the Padres were going to be one of the top teams in the sport and potential World Series favorites. Injuries certainly played a role in their eventual demise, but they surely were expected to do better than this.
Therefore, the firing does not come as too much of a surprise. Changes are definitely needed if they hope to regroup in 2022, especially with how much star talent they possess.
