3 Potential Landing Spots For Star Shortstop Corey Seager

Another star shortstop who is eligible to become a free agent is Corey Seager. He's been fantastic for the Dodgers since the moment he made it to the majors. This past season was another strong one for the 27-year-old, as he had a .306 batting average to go along with 16 home runs and 57 RBIs in 95 games. He provides a little bit of everything when on the field, so he will surely have plenty of takers.

Here are three potential landing spots for the 2020 World Series MVP.

Los Angeles Dodgers: After the Dodgers were eliminated from the postseason, Seager openly stated that he is very open to staying in LA. In a perfect world, the Dodgers would absolutely be willing to bring back the star shortstop. However, the primary obstacle will be money, as the 27-year-old is due for a significant raise from the $13.75 million he made for this season.

New York Yankees: The Yankees are expected to pursue Seager heavily this off-season, as it is common knowledge that they are in the hunt for a star shortstop. MLB Insider Jeff Passan has already made a huge prediction that Seager will end up in the Bronx and when seeing as how they are never afraid to spend money, it would not be very surprising to see.

Texas Rangers: The Rangers could be a dark horse in the Seager sweepstakes. The primary reason for this is Seager is known to having a very close relationship to manager Chris Woodward. Although the Rangers are coming off of a 60-102 record this, they are expected to be very aggressive during free agency this off-season. With all of this, Seager could very well become a Ranger if they are willing to outbid other teams.
