New York Mets Sign Brad Hand

Yesterday, the Toronto Blue Jays designated reliever Brad Hand for assignment. Now, the 31-year-old already has a new home with the New York Mets.
The Blue Jays acquired Hand from the Washington Nationals just last month, but he struggled significantly with them. In 11 games with Toronto, he had a 0-2 record to go along with a 7.27 ERA. It was a far cry from how he performed with the Nationals this season, as he went 5-5 and had a 3.59 ERA. He also tacked on 21 saves with them.

MLB fans know that Hand has been a very solid reliever in the past. He is a three-time All-Star and even led the league in saves during 2020. The Mets are hoping that he can find his previous success with them. They surely would benefit from it, as they are five games out of first place in the NL East and still hope to make the postseason.

We will have to wait and see if Hand is able to regroup with the Mets.
