"This is Perfect": Kevin Costner Returns to Field of Dreams Ahead of White Sox/Yankees Game

Kevin Costner, the star of the seminal film Field of Dreams was practically speechless when he arrived at the Iowa cornfield, to check out the diamond in advance of Thursday night's "Field of Dreams" Game between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox.

In the movie, Costner plays Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella. A  mysterious voice tells him to build a baseball field in the middle of his cornfield, in order to bring back the ghost of baseball legend "Shoeless Joe" Jackson of the White Sox (and the 'Black Sox Scandal'), along with other legends of the game.

"If you build it, he will come," said the voice, one of the most iconic lines in the history of sports movies.

Costner, upon his return there this week, said it "felt so good to be back."

Set in the actual cornfields of Dyersville, Iowa, the field was built on the filming location of the 1989 movie, and was recreated for Thursday night's special MLB matchup between the ChiSox and the Yankees.

Recreating an iconic scene from the film, the Yankees' Aaron Judge took his turn emerging from the cornfield.

The Yankees and the White Sox make the Field of Dreams a reality, Thursday night.
