Sources: Pirates and Padres Finalizing Huge Trade!

The MLB trade deadline is right around the corner and these next few days are going to be fun to watch. Turns out the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres don't feel like waiting until the July 30th deadline and are getting ahead of the market. The two teams are closing out a deal that sees the MLB hits leader Adam Frazier head to the Padres.

The deal is according to ESPN's Jeff Passan asFrazier heads to San Diego and brings them in some more versatility with his bat and his ability to play both the outfield and second base. We've been reporting for the past two months he was a hot trade target and turns out that was most certainly the case.

The Pirates receive shortstop Tucupita Marcano, outfielder Jack Suwinski and right-handed pitcher Michell Miliano. The details were first reported by ESPN's Kiley McDaniel. The Padres also sent over a million in cash to secure Frazier. According to reports, Marcano, 21, is the prize piece of the trade. He made his MLB debut earlier this season and was the Padres' No. 5-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. He's hitting .272/.367/.444 with six home runs and more walks than strikeouts in 44 games at Triple-A.

The 29-year-old is having an outstanding season, making the All-Star team. He's batting .324 and leads the entire league with 125 hits. Great pickup for the Padres!
