San Francisco Giants Make Trade Offer to Kansas City Royals

The San Francisco Giants are trying to do whatever they can to improve their pitching staff as the team is enjoying some surprising success this season. It appears they have their eyes on the American League and more specifically the Kansas City Royals. The Giants have made an offer for Royals lefty Danny Duffy.

The former all-star is currently banged up with injury at the moment, however is having himself a fine season. The southpaw is in the final season of his contract that's paid him $65 million over five years. He's found himself on the injured list this week after a left flexor strain and isn't expected to pitch again until August. When you acquire an injured player, the cost of the acquisition certainly goes down, to basically half the cost.

The Giants have their work to do as their offering a couple of mid-level prospects, as the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays all have interest in Duffy and have made offers. Duffy is 4-3 on the season with a 2.51 ERA and 65 punch-outs in 61 innings of work.
