Deal Complete: Oakland A's Trade for Cubs Reliever

The Oakland A's have made a significant addition to their bullpen, adding lefty reliever Andrew Chafin from the Chicago Cubs.

The A's also received cash in the deal, and sent minor leaguer outfielder Greg Deichmann and pitcher Daniel Palencia to the Cubs in exchange.

Chafin has been a coveted bullpen piece this trade season, as the 31-year-old is in the midst of his best season, with a 2.06 ERA and 0.83 WHIP. He's allowed just one home run over 39.1 innings.

And from the sounds of it — literally — he'll be a fun guy to have around for his Oakland teammates:

The Cubs get a Triple-A outfielder in Deichmann who was hitting .300 with an .885 OPS, and against righthanded pitching those numbers soar to .344 and 1.004 OPS.

The Cubs fire sale continues, with much bigger names still to come...
