2 Possible Landing Spots For Trade Target Kyle Gibson

Kyle Gibson is having a career year with the rebuilding Texas Rangers. In 15 starts this season, the veteran has an impressive 6-0 record with a marvelous 2.00 ERA. Keep in mind, the Rangers are 32-49 and at the bottom of the AL West. Gibson being able to remain undefeated on a team struggling this much shows just how fantastically he is pitching.

The Rangers are likely going to move him by the trade deadline, as his value is at its highest. Gibson also is affordable and has another year left on his contract. Therefore, the team that acquires him will be getting more than a rental. With him being one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball right now, the Rangers will have plenty of callers.

These two teams could be great fits for Gibson.

Milwaukee Brewers: The Milwaukee Brewers are currently first in the NL Central and will be aggressive at the trade deadline. Yet, for them to have a real shot at a long postseason run, they need to bring in another starter. Brandon Woodruff and Corbin Burnes have been quite solid, but insurance is still needed. Gibson slotting into the third spot of the rotation would make them absolutely lethal when the playoffs roll around. Pitching is what wins championships, of course.

San Francisco Giants: The San Francisco Giants are showing the MLB that they are real threats. They are currently first in the stacked NL West. However, with the Dodgers and Padres not too far behind them, they could use Gibson to help strengthen their rotation. They have been dealing with the injury bug, so bringing in an arm seems essential. If Gibson is able to keep up his successful season there, the Giants would have a great duo between him and Kevin Gausman.
