Rumor: Minnesota Twins Receiving Trade Offers For Nelson Cruz

The Minnesota Twins are a team to watch as we approach the MLB's trade deadline and one player who is likely getting moved is OF/DH Nelson Cruz.

The power-hitting Cruz is now in his third season with the Twins and while he's become a mentor to a lot of the younger players in the organization the team needs to capitalize in on his value for the future. It won't be easy for the Twins because of the lack of versatility in Cruz's game. He's only a DH now and that makes it harder to trade him as only AL teams will show interest.

The Twins are currently sitting at 25-37 on the season and are 13 games back in the AL central. They are going to be very active on the trade market and along with Cruz, have been talking to a number of teams about their starting pitching. The July 30th trade deadline is fast approaching the management will need to ensure to find the best prospects possible in return for some of their big names.

As for Cruz, the soon to be 41-year-old is batting .287 on the season, with 11 HR and 29 RBI. It's obvious he can still produce at his wise age and look for teams such as the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Oakland A's and Houston Astros to be interested.
