MLB Trade Rumors: Dodgers Willing To Trade Tyler Glasnow

The LA Dodgers signed top free agent pitcher Blake Snell last season, which came one year after adding $325M starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto from Japan, and, of course, signing Shohei Ohtani. To say the Dodgers are pitching-rich is an understatement.

There are also rumors that they're working on a trade for Detroit Tigers' two-time Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal. All of this makes it only slightly surprising that the Dodgers are actually considering trading one of their many aces in the rotation, Tyler Glasnow.

Alden Gonzalez of ESPN tells us they have had some conversations:
Tyler Glasnow's name has come up in conversations, and the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving him. He's poised to make a combined $60 million over the next two years, with either a $30 million club option or a $21.6 million player option in 2028.

The 6'8" Glasnow has some monster stuff, and certainly will intrigue a large number of teams in trade talks. He does, however, come with some risk, as he is injury-prone. He has never started more than 22 games in a season, and this past year, managed to start just 18 for the Dodgers. He finished with a 3.19 ERA and 10.6 K/9. He was excellent in their World Series run, as well, posting a 1.69 ERA in six playoff appearances, with 10.5 K/9. He has a career 3.74 ERA.

Gonzalez went on to suggest that Glasnow could even be part of a package that would land Skubal in LA.

The Dodgers have already added one of the top closers in baseball this offseason, with a three-year free agent deal for Edwin Diaz. That addresses one of the team's biggest weaknesses, and could allow another supreme Japanese starter, Roki Sasaki, to return to the rotation.
