Breaking MLB Trade: Yankees Finally Acquire Third Baseman
The New York Yankees have finally plugged their third base void, that's the good news. The bad news is it isn't with slugger Eugenio Suarez. They've completed a deal with the Colorado Rockies for Ryan McMahon.

Two prospects will be heading back to the Rockies.
McMahon has seemingly been a trade candidate for years, but Colorado never felt comfortable moving him. He made his first All-Star team in 2024, though that was more a function of being on the woeful Rockies, who had no other candidates to represent them.
McMahon is consistent, if nothing else, regularly reaching the 20-HR mark (he's on pace to do it for the fifth consecutive year), and regularly posting an OPS in the low to mid-700s. He's also always around his career batting average of .240, with the exception of this year, as he's hitting just .217, while leading the NL in striking out, with 127. But hey, he does have 16 homers.
The Yankees send pitching prospects Griffin Herring and Josh Grosz to the Rockies to complete the trade.
