Washington Nationals Superstar Officially Announces His MLB Retirement

The Washington Nationals have been lucky to host some of the best pitchers of this past generation, and out of all of them, at their peak, none came close to being as good as Stephen Strasburg, who came to the big leagues with all the hype in the world, only to exceed the expectations.

Now, after an injury has kept him out of the game for a significant stretch, he announced today that he would be stepping away from the game after an incredible, albeit short reign as one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

In 247 career starts, Strasburg put together a 113-62 record with a 3.24 ERA over 1,470 innings pitched, and after his heroics that led the Nationals to their first ever World Series title, he will be remembered forever by that franchise.
