New York Mets Sign Catcher

Bringing him back.

The New York Mets have re-signed catcher Jose Mena to a minor league contract.

Mena spent the entire past season at High-A Brooklyn where he posted a pedestrian .239/.274/.630 triple-slash line, with eight home runs, 35 RBIs and 31 runs scored across 306 at-bats.

He'll continue to function as organizational catching depth. Unfortunately for the twenty-six-year-old, the Mets have plenty of catching depth within their organization so a major league debut with the team does not appear to be in the near future.
