Cardinals Officially Bring Back Legend

The St. Louis Cardinals are bringing back Albert Pujols, as they have signed the legend to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

There were rumblings that a potential Cardinals and Pujols reunion could occur, and now it officially has. This is very cool to see, as he of course was the face of the franchise from 2001 to 2011.

When looking at St. Louis' roster, it's likely that Pujols will either be their DH or their primary pinch hitter. Although he is no longer the superstar he once was, he showed last season that he is still capable of being a power threat when called upon. This is especially true when looking at his numbers with the Dodgers, as he had 12 home runs and 38 RBIs in 85 games.

Pujols will also officially be playing with former teammates Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright. This will be awesome to see, as they had a lot of success together during Pujols' first tenure with the team.

If this ends up being Pujols' last season in the majors, it makes sense that he will be a member of the Cardinals. It's where he had his most success as a player.
